Dias Carneiro, Arystóbulo, Flores, Sanches and Thomaz Bastos Advogados has helped Brazilian sugar cane processor Biosev’s Swiss subsidiary obtain a US$318 million credit facility from a syndicate of international banks.
Crédit Agricole, ING Capital, Natixis, ABN Amro Bank, Rabobank Curaçao and Societé Générale acted as joint bookrunners for the transaction and were advised by Santos Neto Advogados, DLA Piper LLP’s London office and Swiss firm Pestallozi Attorneys at Law. Caixa Geral de Depósitos and FIM Bank were also included in the syndicate.
Biosev is also believed to have hired Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, but this was not confirmed before publication.
Both Biosev’s parent company and Swiss subsidiary acted as guarantors for the loan, which will be used to finance their operations for the agricultural year beginning in April.
The loan was agreed on 9 January.
